The Limitless Space Institute and IHS Towers are honored to present the Limitless Global Educator Program for educators in Brazil and Nigeria.

Every individual, regardless of where they are in the world, has gazed up at the night sky, a canvas that sparks wonder and ignites curiosity. At the Limitless Space Institute, we recognize the universal allure of the cosmos and its potential as a powerful educational tool. Our primary mission is to equip educators globally with the resources and experiences they need to teach scientific phenomena through the captivating lens of space exploration. By empowering educators with this knowledge and passion, we aim to create a ripple effect, inspiring them to ignite the same sense of wonder in their students.

Navigating through the vast expanse of the universe, we all share a common vessel: Earth. In this age of unprecedented technological advancement, the cosmos is no longer a distant dream but a tangible frontier, accessible and waiting to be explored. Yet, space exploration is not the pursuit of a single nation or entity; it is a collective endeavor that binds humanity together in shared curiosity and ambition. The Global Limitless Educator Program is designed with this ethos at its core. We aim to inspire future generations of explorers from every corner of our planet, cultivating a global workforce that understands the importance of peaceful and collaborative exploration. For in the vastness of space, our unity and shared purpose will be the beacon that guides us, ensuring that the journey ahead benefits all of humanity.

Join us on this global journey as we redefine the boundaries of space education and exploration.

Limitless

Educators

It is our goal to inspire and educate the next generation to travel beyond our solar system and support the research and development of enabling technologies. The mission of the Limitless Educator Program is to inspire innovative educators to teach beyond the general curriculum. Limitless Educators engage in unique virtual guest speaker opportunities from scientists conducting research in the realm of advanced power and propulsion systems. We also offer our educators the opportunity to attend the Limitless Space Educator Institute, which immerses participants in extraordinary professional development experiences and gives these rock star teachers the time to work together to design new and innovative lesson plans tied to interstellar exploration.  We are thrilled with the cohort of Limitless educators from around the world who have integrity, an out-of-this-world imagination, and the courage to try new things in the classroom!

LIMITLESS LESSON PLANS

Innovative STEM lesson plans tied to space exploration are important because they foster curiosity and creativity in learners while also providing them with opportunities to develop critical thinking, problem-solving, and technical skills. These lesson plans encourage students to explore different aspects of advanced power and propulsion systems for interstellar space travel through hands-on learning experiences and real-world applications.

By teaching students about space exploration, educators can also help them understand the wider implications of science and engineering, such as sustainability, global cooperation, and innovation. Ultimately, innovative STEM lesson plans tied to space exploration can inspire and prepare the next generation of scientists and explorers, allowing them to contribute to the development of new technologies and breakthroughs in our understanding of the universe.

All our Limitless Lessons are designed for teachers by teachers. Each lesson plan includes a powerpoint presentation for the activity, a detailed description for teacher background information, a student packet, and alignment to NGSS standards. Teachers are encouraged to edit the slides and lessons as they see fit to meet the needs of their students. It is our intent to grow our library of interstellar offerings as the program grows so we are open to suggestions for lesson topics and feedback to make the lessons better after you have implemented them with students.

Have fun exploring!

FAQ

  • If I’m not living and working in Brazil or Nigeria, but I’m originally from those countries, can I
    apply?
    • No. Only educators who are currently living and working in Brazil or Nigeria may apply.
  • Do I need to be a citizen of Brazil or Nigeria to apply for the program?
    • No, citizenship is not a requirement. However, you must be residing and actively
working as an educator in either Brazil or Nigeria to be eligible to apply.
  • If I miss a virtual classroom meeting or guest speaker session during the program, will I be penalized?

    • Full participation is required in this program. We understand that educators may have multiple obligations and a family life outside of work. Each session will be recorded and available to the group after the video conferences take place. Educators must still complete the required tasks and reflection forms after watching the videos. If they do not complete the reflections within two weeks (14 days), they will be notified that it is a requirement of the program. Three warnings will be issued if tasks are not completed. The 4 th occurrence will result in disqualification from the program.

  • Will I have to implement space related lessons into my classroom?

    • Yes. We would like to see the impact of the lessons not only on the educator, but on the students as well. We ask that at a minimum, two lessons related to this course are implemented throughout the program and that the impact data from
the implementation be shared with the group.

  • Do I have to complete a final project for this program?

    • Yes. There will be multiple options for the participants to choose from for the final project. Projects must include content from each month’s learning module and there will be support checkpoints along the way to ensure the educators are making adequate progress. These projects will be presented at the conclusion of the program to a panel of space industry experts and representatives from IHS Towers.

  • Will I need an electronic device to participate in the program?

    • Yes. Accepted applicants will receive a tablet courtesy of IHS Towers.

  • How do I submit my video, slides and administration support letter?

    • These items can be uploaded as attachments at the bottom of the online application. If you need assistance, please email the Director of Education, Kaci Heins. Kaci@limitlessspace.org

  • If I cannot commit to a full year in 2024, should I apply?

    • No. Participants must commit to a full year of active engagement from January to December of 2024.

  • If I do not read and speak English fluently, should I apply?
    • This course will be conducted exclusively in English. Strong proficiency in reading, writing, listening, and speaking skills in the English language is essential to fully comprehend the content and acquire new vocabulary. Applicants must be fluent in both written and spoken English.
  • Do I need a passport to apply for the program?

    • No, but you will need to be able to acquire one if you are selected to be a part of the program.

  • Do I need to apply for a travel VISA to apply to the program?

    • No. However, if you are selected for the program, you will need to apply for a travel VISA at the embassy. The Limitless Space Institute will provide a letter of support stating that you are a part of this program. It is not guaranteed that it will expedite the process or that you will be approved, but we will provide as much support as we can to assist with this process.

  • If I am accepted into the program, do I have to pay the travel VISA processing fees?

    • No. However, LSI will only help support the cost of ONE travel visa application. All of the paperwork and requirements MUST be completed very carefully as fees are non-refundable if there are mistakes. If a travel visa request must be submitted a second time, that is a cost that the participant must pay.

  • Are the dates for the US and host country trip finalized?
    • No. We will work with the accepted applicants to find dates that work with their
school calendars to travel. All travel costs abroad and within their respective
      country will be covered.
